We are Kate and Ian, oh! and Harry the dog.

 

We have lived in Bulgaria for more than 15 years now and love it.

We moved here after living in Mozambique and Malawi where we met, Ian had lived and worked in Malawi as a SCUBA Diving Instructor for many years and we ran another dive school together in Mozambique.

I have a tourism back ground having worked as a tour guide in Europe and the USA  for a well known British coaching company for over 12 years. 

We both had a dream to continue working overseas but closer to home when we heard about Bulgaria and knew instantly it could be a place we could call home.

Our first two years were spent settling in and renovating our wreck of a little cottage in to a habitable little home and wondering how we could share this beautiful place with others, make a living and make the best use of the skills we had learnt in our previous lives.

When we discovered the Fakiska river, just a couple of kilometres from our house we knew it was the perfect place to put our kayaking skills to practice and as it is a shallow and slow moving river it makes the ideal location for all ages and abilities to get closer to nature.
